Cookie Notes
What cookies are, which kinds a website like ours might rely on, and how you can manage them from your own browser.
A cookie in one paragraph
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. The next time your browser requests a page from that same site, it can send the cookie back, allowing the site to recognise a returning browser or remember a setting. Cookies cannot run programs or carry viruses, and they are limited to the website that created them.
Similar technologies — such as local storage in the browser — work in much the same way, so wherever these notes mention cookies, the same thinking applies to them.
Four kinds of cookie — and where this site stands
Cookies are usually grouped by what they do. Here is how each group relates to appliancerepaircc.it.com.
Essential
Needed for a website to be delivered securely and reliably. Our hosting provider may use such a cookie for things like security or traffic handling.
Possible, via hostingPreferences
Remember choices such as a language or region. This site has no settings to remember, so it does not set any.
Not usedFunctionality
Support features such as logins, baskets or embedded tools. Our pages use only simple built-in features that need no cookies.
Not usedAnalytics & advertising
Measure visits or follow browsing across sites to target adverts. We have chosen not to include any of these.
Not usedWhat our pages actually rely on
| Item | Purpose | Stores a cookie? |
|---|---|---|
| Page files (HTML, CSS, images, video) | Display the website and its photos | No |
| Site script | Opens the mobile menu, the photo viewer and the video play/pause button | No |
| Email links | Open your own email app so you can write to us | No |
| Web hosting | Deliver pages to your browser; may apply security or performance measures | Possibly — strictly necessary only |
Managing cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you view, block and delete cookies. Menu names change between versions, but you will usually find the controls in these places:
Chrome
Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, or "See all site data and permissions".
Firefox
Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
Safari
Settings (or Preferences) → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
Edge
Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Good to know: blocking all cookies can affect how some websites behave. Because this site does not depend on cookies, it should continue to work normally whatever settings you choose. Private or incognito windows also discard cookies when you close them.
If anything changes
Should we ever add a feature that relies on non-essential cookies, these notes will be updated first to explain what the cookie does, and we will ask for your consent where that is required.
For a wider view of how we treat personal information, see the Privacy Center. Questions about cookies can be sent to [email protected].
